Connect to Facebook to schedule posts

Canva’s Content Planner makes it easy to plan and publish your content directly to the Facebook app.

Because of the Facebook app’s rules, you might see this error message: “We couldn’t find anywhere to publish. Please log in to your account to check your permissions.”

The Facebook app restricts third-party apps like Canva from posting to personal profiles. This means you can only schedule posts to Facebook Pages. These are different from personal timelines and are typically used by businesses, creators or public figures.

Here’s a guide on how you can post to a Facebook Page or business account.

To publish content through Content Planner, you need one of the following:

• A Facebook Page: This is a public-facing profile for your brand, business or organisation.
• A Facebook Business Account (Meta Business Suite): This is the Facebook app’s tool to manage Pages, ad accounts and permissions for your team.

You must have the correct role on the Facebook Page you want to connect. Here’s what to check:

• For classic Pages, you need to be an Admin or Editor on the Page.
• For new Pages, you need Facebook Page access with full control or partial control, which means you can manage and post to the Page.

If your Page is part of a Facebook Business Account (also called Meta Business Manager), make sure:

• Turn on two-factor authentication for your personal account on the Facebook app.
• Confirm you are added to the Business Asset Group for the Page. Learn how to create or manage Business Asset Groups.

If you're trying to connect a location Page (a Page that’s part of a larger Page structure):

• Your personal account on the Facebook app needs a direct role on the location Page itself.
• Canva (and other tools) can’t see permissions your Page gets from a parent Page because of Facebook app limits.

1. Go to facebook.com/pages/create.
2. Choose a category for your Page. Follow the prompts to name your Page and add details.
3. Publish the Page when you're ready.

1. Visit business.facebook.com/create.
2. Follow the steps to create your Business Account.
3. Once created, go to Business Settings > Pages > Add to connect your new Facebook Page to your Business Account.

Once your Facebook Page is set up and connected to your Business Account:

1. Open Canva and go to the Content Planner.
2. Select the
   Menu at the top right, and select
   Connect social account.
3. Select Facebook Page.
4. Log in with the Facebook account that manages the Business Page.
5. Select the Facebook Page you want to connect.
6. Grant Canva the required permissions.

Now you’re ready to start scheduling posts to your Facebook Page directly from Canva.

If you're still having trouble connecting your Facebook Page to Canva, double-check your Page roles, Business Manager access and whether two-factor authentication is enabled. Then, try reconnecting through Content Planner.
